A Day at the Gym

January 2018 - May 2018


A stopmotion film in a form of a montage, that shows exaggeration of people working out at
the gym. Like people that groan, yell, or make a lot of noise. The facial reactions and
movement will be exaggerate to make the film effective. I am focused on making a good
stage that effectively displays a miniature gym. Also, I want to get better at building puppets.
Another focus is making effective faces that people make for the project. The last thing is the
puppets movement. I want to make it exaggerated and somewhat fast pace.

Set Design
I designed the set so the full gym could get split in half and the mirrors are detachable as well so the camera could shoot inside the set to make it feel bigger and more in the room.&#38;nbsp;Mouths
I fabricated 20 different mouths for to cover all the phonemes that make up different words. I also could flip some of the mouths to mean a different phoneme or a different expression. Mouths were made out of magic sculpt.

Each Stop Motion puppet used for this film was close to the size of a gatorade bottle. They were also fabricated using wire, foam, and magic sculpt.

Stop-motion technique is used in an effective manner. Character design, sets,

This video shows how wires and other unwanted things from frame was removed. It also shows how the green screen was changed into a beautiful field of tall grass.Sets
The pictures show some of the sets and stop motion puppets that were fabricated for the film. There was a total of 7 sets built for the film. The road set had a detachable patch of grass that made it into a full field of grass or a road. The set with the farmers house was a 8 foot by 4 foot set that featured the garden, farm house, and the behive tree. The big beehive set was made out of papier-mache. About 200 honey combs were fabricated for the interior of the hive sets. That is roughly 1200 pieces cut for the honey combs 
Puppets
There were three different size bee puppets used for the film. The bigger and more define bees were used for the interior of the hive. The second size was used as baby bees for the interior of the hive. The third which was the smallest was used for the size comparison of the farmer puppet and the bee.
